The CW gives Robin his own series

Apparently the caped crusaders little buddy may make his way to the CW. Already hosting shows like Smallville and Supernatural, the CW seems like a perfect home for the boy wonder. During an announcement with Variety the CW said the show would be based around his time before he was Robin. This would mean the Graysons (Robins true identity is Dick Grayson) would be the setting for the show. Obviously being a teenager he would follow in the footsteps of Tom Welling (Clark Kent in Smallville) and be faced with his fair share of teenage problems (i.e girls).

Will this fly? I'm not sure but I'm not overly excited for it. Robin is just really not an exciting character, and given that he's fairly young when he joins Batman this should be an interesting approach. I do however find it funny that they have changed his name of the show to "DJ" instead of Dick. I mean really, give us a little credit, just because someone would be walking around saying Dick all episode once a week doesn't....yeah ok I see your point.

How do you figure lol? It's going to be OC with G rated violence seeing as Batman basically trains Robin to be at all bad ass...right now he's a lame acrobatic punk
yea, I'm a Grayson fan, but his life really doesn't get interesting till he Teams up with Batman, it get a lot better after he leaves to become Night Wing but that's not what they are covering. It might be good if Jeph Loeb is producing it, but I doubt that since he's working on Heros

other than traveling the nation, you can only wonder what type of circus freaks they are going to put him up against. not much for them to write.

Agreed man. Night Wing would be 100000X better. This should be pretty lame. He has no special abilities to make me care anymore about him. At least if it was nightwing it would have the whole dark broken pissed off older hero type to watch.

Seriously though. Why before he became Robin. That would kind of defeat the purpose of the shows premise. He was an acrobat in a circus. How about a post Batman stint. Like, oh his other alter ego as Night Wing? That would at least last 2 seasons.
