Appearance:
Crystal clear, bright golden color. Pours a rather thick white foamy head, a bit creamy and it sticks to the glass.
Smell:
Ginger, herbal with tropical-like fruit aromas.
Taste:
Smooth mouth feel. Light body with balanced malt sweetness. Malt characters are biscuity and toasted. The ginger lends a nice bite to the brew and blends nicely with the Saaz hops. Faint spicy, citrus hop flavors from the Cascade hops, and a soft hop flavor from East Kent Goldings. Some hop oils and hop leaf textures that are very tea-like. Aftertaste of residual ginger flavors and some grain / biscuit notes.
Notes:
Juju is a rare treat and very unique. Brewed using a pale ale as the base with the addition of fresh organic ginger root, which has been used in brewing for ages but is quite uncommon these days. A most refreshing beer, or a great introductory beer.
